My vans cassette red light has been ON for a year now , I know it tells me the cassette is full [ liar] it is to do with a missing magnet ? in the cassette which is supposed to control, this light, obviously I have lost this magnet somewhere when giving the cassette a good shake when emptying, I do not turn the 12volt off in my van ever so this light continues to glow, it no longer bothers me but I was hoping that it would blow, but these leds seem to last forever, it seems like a lot of faffing about to fix the problem. I did once pull the switch assembly out to see if I could disconnect the LED but after I removed a wire I lost the flush so remade the connection,so I will just leave it alone in the hope it goes away hee hee.:D

I've never fully investigated how the system works, but wouldn't it be because the magnet is stuck in high position due to you shaking it too vigorously( the cassette that is  )

Could be, or maybe the reed switch by the fuse holder is stuck. Maybe a precision clout with screwdriver handle could fix it.:idea-007:

does light go out when cassette is removed. if yes, sounds like magnetic lost stuck in up position. tap around cassette sides, area where it meets reed switch, to try to dislodge float.
If no, then suspect reed switch. Tap with plastic handle of screwdriver. If this works replace switch.

If you put your hand inside and feel around you can feel the float which can stick through vigorous rinsing, a gentle pull down should free it.
I would recommend cleaning the cassette first and wearing gloves but each to their own 😂
If it is this type here is a video, if yours is different post the model number

Perhaps I've been lucky mines never worked But have seen people that have over filled theirs surely they can see when its open how full it is

Is it possible to take bulb out

Is that not the fuse for the flush pump?
Yes it is, I pulled it out this morning as a check and the pump was isolated, BUT the red light did not glow so on the same fuse, I also took the cassette apart and gave it a good clean [I think someone must have had a poo in it ]hee hee, not much to see in the cassette I did locate the float by hand and gave it a wiggle , no good came of that, I also got a magnet and played with it around the reed switch, again no result, so reassembled the cassette and put it back in the holder and still have the red light on , so that is how it will stay till it blows hee hee , can't win em all as they say. Mine was the result of the fuse by the reed switch having corroded pins.A quick clean with fine sandpaper the cure

Where you appeared with a very tasty curry out , Nonancourt. May be stopping off there in about 4/5 weeks time.
