Cassette emptying point

I think I came across the disposal point on Search for sites the other day. Been in the Lake District for two and a half weeks now. Yes its a good idea but somewhat academic as wilding in the lakes is now pretty much pointless unless you are prepared to spend the night in a layby next to a busy road like the 590 etc. We have pretty much CL hopped apart from one night wilding near the Honister pass. This time of year I want EHU anyway and its been great but its sad to see so many no overnighting signs especially in spots that we used to use.

Came across this in the Lake District National Park office car park at Thelkeld this week. A United Utilities Free cassette emptying point.
I don't know if there are others in different places but it was hardly well advertised !
There are three locations, I think they are shown on Cumbria Van-life website.

They had hoped to persuade some campsites to provide access to non-resident vans, but since unlike Highlands Council they weren’t prepared to back it up with any financial encouragement they all said NO. They are listening to us, I spent many hours talking to Cumbria Councillors and Tourism people, but somehow they never quite manage to get it right. To be fair they have had an uphill struggle as many in the county are virulently opposed to motorhomes.

Perhaps you can only fill it after a night on thee whiskey
