Carver Heater Problem - Kontiki 1996

Put the heating on last night for an hour and then turned off - fine.

This morning tried to put it on and it turning the nob pressing it down - it will not go click, click,click as it does. boiled the kettle and some hot water - that was ok.

How do I get the heater to go guys?

Its something to do with no ignition - I cant see a little battery anywhere as used on some heaters in newer caravans that we had had.

any ideas?

If you google "carver heating problems", you will find many links to problems with these heaters, including some from this forum.
It's quite possible that your ignition issue will be covered.

Sounds like you need a marine electrician.

Hi Craig.

I had this same problem last year, First take off the outer casing, it lifts off by swinging out from the bottom and lifting up, The ignition is attached to this so be careful, The ignition can easily be replaced,or you could strip it down and rebuild it first as this is what i did and it works again, The parts inside had come loose it was a simple matter of rebuilding, There are no batteries as it works off Piezzo ignition.At least i think its called piezo or someat like that, I hope this is of help to you, Any gas fitter could also fix this for you.

ps i have a 1992 swift kontiki so it should be the same .

I fixed it!!!

Theres a little box where the long bar goes into and the box wasnt sitting right.
Everytime I touched the box it clicked - like making a contact noise - so made sure the box was sitting right - hey presto!

there is always something isnt there....
