Caravans give you more freedom than motorhomes.

By the time I leave I’ll have annoyed every salesman and rep in the whole place they talk Shiite all day every day but they haven’t met me. By the time I leave them they are a shivering bag of nerves. That’s the fun part of going to these things.
That’s true with the 💩 talk 🫢. 2022 show met Wully and he was giving it 💩💩💩 talk to the wimmin selling fridges and stuff. I said to her if you give us more of a discount on two fridges I’ll get him away from your stall, she happily obliged, more discount applied 😂

I won’t mention the electric bike, add handcuffs to them gloves mate 😂

Being in the motor trade when young i noticed neatrly all sales men knew nout about the product they were selling.
When i ask one when at the lunch table his reply was people dont ask the questions you ask, if the colour looks nice and we hand the lady a bunch of flowers the deal is done with the husband.
Sums things up as many folk no nothing about the second most expensive thing they buy in life.
My mate was buying a petrol lawnmower a few years back.
The salesman stated that he used the same lawnmower for his large rear garden.
Funny my mate said, I know your father, and he told me you live two floors up in a tenement block in Glasgow. :)

Thank god I was there yesterday Terry before Wully arrived. :)

caravans are great for living in,and cheap . but they're awful for travelling . good for a cheap trailer taking stuff south, annd then easily sold
There are other differences too. Seems there are lots of corners cut.

Comparing my Hymer with my daughter's Eriba caravan of vaguely similar vintage, it's clear that the Eriba, though lovely, is built down to a weight and a price, and would not be of adequate quality to match even the cheapest Hymer motorhome, let alone an S class one.

My better half got a job as a sales person (@trevskoda ..black mark for "sales man") at a main Ford Dealer.

She had been there a couple of weeks when a guy came in and asked if they had a P100.
"Great car" she said (having never heard of it), "I'll check up". She went to the dealer Principal asked "What the hell is a P100, and have we got one?".
"It is a Sierra based pick up and we have one in stock awaiting prep", he told her.
She sold the vehicle to the customer and still knew nothing about it except is was a Sierra based pick up and was red

I tried to look at that, but the page is all signup for emails and webchats, with no way to get more than a glimpse of the motorhome in between.
Hi geek, I just tried it and it works fine.
If you want to see the van google Burstner Lyseo i 744 Motorhome.

Whenever I have bought a new car (which I never will again) I pretty much know what I want and have done my research and accept that the salesman just wants to sell me the car whether they know anything about it or not. This being the case all I am interested from them is the deal they can offer.

Having said that though, some people will go into a dealership not having a clue what they want and rely on the salesman for information - whether you can trust that information is a different matter, I don't trust most car salesmen as far as I can throw them!

(I will accept black marks for 'salesman' as that is all I've ever dealt with regarding vehicles!)

We were at the Camping and Caravan Exhibition today at the SECC in Glasgow.
And I have to say this is the third time we have went to the exhibition , and this was the best of the three.
And some of the prices looked surprisingly reasonable.
Perth Motorhomes are selling a Burstner 7m A class with two drop down beds, looked a great van for £106,000.

Anyway we were looking at a 6M PVC and this man says the prices are ridiculous , far better off with a caravan, and they offer more freedom

At first I thought let it go, but then he comes out with how when they go to campsites they have their car to travel about in.
I took the bait, and asked him when was your last trip.
He replies last September the campsites are all closed till April.
So I told him we use our van 12 months of the year, go too places were there are no campsites, or they are closed.
We wake up in the morning surrounded in mountains, by the sea or a loch, with no one else there.
When we feel the need for a good shower, empty our cassette, etc we head for a campsite.
Ah but he said you don't have a car to travel from the campsite.
I replied correct we don't, we have a van just like this to travel from the campsite if we chose to do so.
Why in gods name would anyone ever think a caravan gives you more freedom than a motorhome.
Nothing against caravans, but they limit where and when you can go.:)
To be controversial... we found being in the car touring Morocco was better than being in the motorhome. We travelled roads with amazing scenery that we would not have been able to in the motorhome.

Many years ago when I used to buy the accident damaged cars from the insurance company, one day a caravan turned up with damage to the step and one of the cupboards after a tyre blow out, as I didn’t really want it I threw them a silly low offer, but still ended up with it,as it happens it turned out a good deal as I knew someone that did caravan repairs, so I got it fixed for very little money.
Even though I had never wanted a caravan, I thought I would give it a try, so I booked a week at a caravan site in Scarborough,
I suffered it for two days and decided it definitely wasn’t for me and packed up and went home,

Rubish pictures anyway, The van looked okay from what I could see, the video was shot in portrait not landscape so they limited it there too, why can't why not just show you the van, maybe a salesperson who has a clue do a nice 20 minute walk through, if I can do it to sell 15 year old vans it should be a doddle for new ones, or even do a 360 pictures set, no idea have they.

I tried to look at the photo's and the live webchat kept popping up so I replied 'just browsing' she then asked if I was interested in a specific model to which I replied 'I have given up and will look elsewhere' (not that I am interested really!) to which she asked again if I was interested in a specific model.
