Campinggaz options

Hi all. Phil the noob here....

I've just ran out if gas so I thought I'd enquire at my local supermarket about exchanging the bottle thing.
Upon inspection it says campingaz on the side. I hear it's quite expensive. So...
Q1 is campingaz different to propane and butane?
Q2 do I have to use CGaz or can I just stick a butane bottle on it?
Q3 if not what do I have to do/is it possible to convert it?

Thanks all.

Before you do anything you have to find out if you have any room to put another type of gas bottle. If you only have room for something the size of your camping gas bottle then you are pretty well stuffed. If you have room above your bottle then you could try a 3,5 kg Calor Gas bottle. If you still have room try a 6kg. If that fits then you could use a refillable one. Another option is a bottle underneath and just refil when neccisary. You cannot put a gas bottle just anywhere as it needs a vent to outside should you have a leak.

Calor Gas is cheaper than Camping Gaz but Calor is only available in the Uk. If you are going abroad you can easily switch back.

Most use the Red Calor Bottles as they don't freeze up during the winter.

you can fit whatever bottle will fit providing you use the appropriate threads

Gas

With aVW bay you will not have much room most seem to only be able to find cuboard room for Camping Gaz which is I think a mixture of calor and propane if you do find room you will need to change you regulator as well

Thanks all.

I'll see if a butane bottle will fit in.
