Camping Car park access card charge

Bear in mind that whilst on a CCP aire (booked or not booked), you can leave and return during your 24 hour stay. Ccp do point out though, you may not get the same pitch on your return.
This explains some of the apparently empty spaces whilst the app shows a full site.

I noticed that but wasn't sure if it was only applicable to those who pay the annual membership, which also allows the pre-booking

I think that you get a virtual a card on the app. now Barry, not that you can actually use it, you still need to key in the number they allocate, if you don’t have an actual card. For people who have the actual card, I hope people are keeping up at this point, it’s for life. Whoooooo! There whole system crashed the other day and in some aires people couldn’t get out or in. People were unbolting the barrier poles just to get out. We found this out when we arrived at the aire atVilleneuve les Beziers. The pole was lying on the ground with three large bolts neatly on top of the entry machine.
Sounds like a French job

Hi Barry we have been using this system and paid for Aires for a few years and found it’s like all this stuff the more you use it the easier it becomes. We are currently on one in Brittany and it’s as good as any caravan site I’ve ever been on right on the edge of a beautiful lake my new favourite . The one at Mont st Micheal has to be the best kept one and the views of the Mont are fantastic . I was late on the rd on Monday went to a spot famous with surfers one of the blue ones on the search for site it looked like Gamora 100 vans squeezed in 2 foot apart and all the surfer hippy mob who by the looks of it are permanently there. We actually drove 5 miles up rd and found a nice wild spot. But for security I’d rather be in one of these behind some sort of barrier. Enjoy

We have the CCP card, used it last month at Comps. CCP have taken over the running of what was a 6 euro pn municipal aire, and is now I think it was 12 euro pn-ish. The only difference now is, you get EHU.

The area is cordoned off, with boulders, and of course, there is the card machine and barrier, we had bother getting out, hence me knowing M16 bolds secure the barrier to the moving arm, but, another van arrived, got in no problem, after he drove through, B held up the barrier and I drove out.

All that has changed here is, price has doubled and you get EHU, it is an open site for pedestrians walking dogs, cutting through, etc. And walking within the aire, is like walking in a minefield, dodging dog :poop:. We wont return to Comps, due to this change.

I wouldn’t advocate for the CCP, but we will use them if they are the best placed aire for where we want to visit. This year by coincidence we’ve use them 6 times because by coincidence they were best placed for watching the Tour.

FWIW, I refuse to use them. If I can't find anywhere free to park, I would rather go on a privately run campsite, many of which are barely more expensive, and yet often have showers, swimming pool, restaurant, bar, washing machines, etc, etc. It's corporate takeover of the free aires, often with strong-arm tactics that aim to prevent mohos parking anywhere else in the village. Just my 2¢ ...

We use CCP quite a bit! Great setup and only once had a problem getting out once in 6 years. Yes we will stop at a free aire if it is where we want to be, but popular areas tend to fill and can't be booked. We always book the first one when we enter France and then the final one before departing. The rest we take as it comes. The facilities on Camping mon Village are normally excellent and you get a campsite at Aire (CCP) prices. At the standard Aires, water waste and electric can be a godsend, especially for the coffee machine.

Just a note: Although CCP advertise 6 amp supplies, on the Camping mon Village, it is worth checking the trip fuses. All so far have been 10 or 16 amp!

I got a survey to do this morning from Camping car park. I gave them a fair review but they could make some improvement to that aire. Mainly the service point. One observation I noticed and it could just be because it takes 71 vans compared to the free Aire we are on right now just up the road was how noisy it was in comparison. Nothing annoying but a bit like campsites we have stayed on. There is always people messing about with stuff and making a racket. Constantly engines chugging in and out. We watched one bloke when we were there walk backwards and forwards (across our pitch) to the service point which was a good trek with a tiny watering can at least seven or eight times. Here, we pulled in yesterday and have not heard a peep out of any or neighbours. They may all be dead for all I know. :D

Not picking, just an observation. "Aire behaviour" seems different to "Site behaviour" and I think the Aix les bains Aire is more like a site than an Aire. 5 out of 10.

your reputation proceeds you Barry. Your neighbours possibly clocked your guitar, recognises you and thought, we’ll play dead in case he starts playing and singing and all that 💩

HAHA! Maybe. I wish we had come here first rather than the two nights in Aix les Bains. Michelle found this one. So much for me being the master guru trip planner.
