TBH, it won't surprise me if driving tests are abolished within a few decades as more and more cars become autonomous and personal car ownership becomes a thing of the past. Obviously, the urban-centric powers that be will completely ignore the needs of those who live in 'the sticks'...

Yes and you will be forced to go electric with maybe only one charge point in the nearest village, if lucky.
