Free to a good (or bad!) home:

2 X 6kg red (propane) Gas bottles

Collect from Bingley, West Yorks.

PM if you're interested. If nobody wants them by 24th March they're going to the tip.

I'm assuming you mean Calor, or maybe you think I stole them?
Why would I give them to Calor when I can give them to someone on this forum and maybe save them a few bob?

simply because you said if no one wanted them you would scrap them. They are not yours to scrap.

Our family run a small brewery and we have a similar problem, namely that of getting our casks back. Certainly things have improve d with the tightening up of laws covering scrap yards but some people are quite cavalier about other people's property. A certain large pub chain decided to use their suppliers casks to make displays by painting them and making an arrangement in many of their pubs.
Similarly there is a popular trend of cutting up gas bottles to make heaters etc.

No doubt the gas suppliers are aware of this and price their gas with a cost to cover loss of containers, so who pays?

Yes, you're quite right, I should have less of a cavalier attitude however all's well that ends well as another forum member has just collected them from me and I think they've gone to a good home.

Possibly because Calor, although having received a deposit for them, refuse to refund it if you don't have the original paperwork? Shouldn't matter who returns them, a refundable deposit has been paid. Inho they have created this problem themselves, good job it wasn't the same with the pop/beer bottles years ago, kids would have had a grand old time with them. :)
 
I have one full 6k calor lite, one full 3.9 k calor, one empty 6k calor lite and obe empty 3.9 K calor. Sadly, not free! Any offers?
 
Have just collected the two 6kg gas bottles. Many thanks to Pat, it has saved me nearly £80.
Calor make you sign a "refill agreement" its not called a deposit and after a short while you get nothing back if you don't need them. A 6kg refill agreement is a £40 rip off when they also charge top dollar £20 for a refill (not enough competition ?) so Calor only have themselves to blame which is why a lot of users are converting to the refillable systems and saving a lot of cash, I would if I had a larger van.
Once again many thanks to Pat who is a good example of what this site should be in helping other members, must also mention Alf1 who was kind enough to send me the Smartwater security labels some time ago.
 
6kg refill down to less than £16 a few weeks ago, previous to that (mid last year) it was about £21/22!

Yes, Rog! Got it done Tues.....cost me £7 something to fill it. And I did it standing up instead of scratting around on my poor knees! Well worth it!

Cheeky buggers round here are still charging the same as before ....... Calor Lite £23 and a Standard 6kg £22 :mad1:

Thankfully i`ve 2 free Calor Lites ( thanks to the recall ) to use first then back to using the Gas It :dance:
