Today I returned 4 x 13kg bottles to Calor and received £7.50 each. This offer is only for domestic customers and to a maximum of 5 bottles and from Calor themselves Not their dealers

Anyone any idea how long it's on for?

I was really quite excited by this until I followed their link to find a centre...

Cashback for your bottle

... the fuel cost for returning our 2 bottles makes it pointless.

Thanks for the heads-up tho'

If you have your original agreement paperwork then a dealer should take them back and pay you also. At least my local calor place told me that. He also said that the amount of money you get depends on how long you have had them for.

what?,are they paying interest now!.

all the best.
jan,

Does anyone know if campingaz do this too?

No they don't because you purchase Campingaz bottles outright, not rent them like you do with Calor. There's a fair demand for empties on ebay or you could try a local independent dealer who may buy them (my local one offers £5 each).

I really do need to get rid of about 4 in my garage that I don't need, but the link does not seem to work.

I thought the offer ran until the end of December, good to know its still on though its not really worth my while taking them back to Calor either as the main dealers is too far away, never mind they'll probably sit in my outhouse for a few years longer. ;)

if you ever plan to go to Portugal save your c/gaz bottles till you get there. their system is as follows- you take the empty to cust services, they give you a full price refund, you then go and buy another bottle, or in my case , walk out with a smile ! last time i was there it was about 25 euros apiece

I`ve got Preston Calor Centre 5 minutes from my house but they are not a main depot so they cannot take them back under the offer

The main Calor depot is a 40 mile round trip so i`ve 2 empty Calor Lites sat in my garage.

Is it illegal to destroy a Calor Gas bottle, ie convert it to something else. If they want mine back best they come and get it and pay £40.
