Cab Window damp smell

The passenger cab window when opened, 2018 Fiat Ducato, whilst driving lets in a damp smell, close it up and it goes... not there when stopoed. I have checked the drain vents at the bottom of the door, been smelling everywhere but just cannot trace the smell when stationery.

Any ideas on where to check and how to get rid of the smell.

Thanks

Thanks, I don't think it is. The smell is like you get when green damp is around outside.

Take the inside door panel of, there could be mould growing inside the door cavity, sometimes up top under where the window seals sit.

Maybe the smell is actually coming from somewhere other than the door (maybe your waste tank) . You think it's the door because you only smell it when you wind the window down but actually opening the window causes a drop in pressure inside the van and this sucks the smell into the van and then out through the window where you obviously smell it as it goes by your nose. That's why it only happens when you're travelling.

Now you mention that, I seem to recall it being discussed in another thread a while back.

Possibly, whenever I hear "when the window's open" I immediately think air pressure issue and we all know about waste and toilet smells.
Shutting the drain valve won't stop it because there's usually an overflow opening in the tank.
Peeps often seem to treat their MH sink like at home, ramming the bits of food waste down the plughole but we now always wipe as much food Debris off the plates etc with kitchen roll before washing up and we don't get a smell anymore.

Thanks for your thoughts. The waste tank is at the back of the vehicle 😒 I have put plugs in the sinks and cleaned the tanks.

Thanks for the reply. Both toilet and waste water tank are at the back of the vehicle and the smell is only there when travelling and the window is opened on the passenger cab, not on the drivers window... and absolutely nothing when stationery 🤷‍♀️ I always wipe all pots and rarely put dish water down the drains, something I've been doing for years 😊 And forgot to say I have plugs in the 3 drain holes too.
