Yes i had to change the back axle as it was running 8/41 up to a 11/43 which dropped 1000rpm so i can now cruse at 56mph at 2500rpm

My Iveco is fitted with a limiter, set at 100kmh. Thought about removing it, but didn't as its plenty fast enough. I enjoy the journey as much as the destination, which helps.....

My limiter is 100kph, but the cruise control limit is 90kph. I like that because I'm not wasting fuel for the most part, but can go around someone who is at their 89kph limit.

Hello
Lots to think about, just working my way through the posts.

We were considering a midi coach
It would give us the space we need but not too long

9 metres is a nice length ,you can take it almost anywhere . on the 1 1/2 , i raised half the roof a metre which gave a great bedroom for 2 kids and all their toys , and a sitting area under which became a double bed ,or it could be left made up. half the bed was fixed and accessed from the back to give a massive storage area

Don't be to tempted by some comments on here, I think some people would happily lead you down the garden path and laugh as you fell of the cliff at the bottom.
If I could cut a metre out of both of mine easily I would. Maybe we go places we shouldn't, but you do have to watch your bum swing down narrow lanes with stone walls. We have found some European campsite won't accept 8 metres or over.
Another trick missed with many conversions, including panel vans is the space wasted underneath.
I guess it all depends on your expectations, if your going to fill it with domestic furniture the bigger the better.

Mine is 7.7m & plenty big enough for 2 of us & 3 on occasion. Could easily have made it 4 permanent single berths tho with the same space. Table seats 4, got a thetford toilet in its own room, & still space for a small log burner this year I hope...

Hi can you tell me the length of the Mercedes Plaxton that you are converting.
Thanks.

The last picture Trev posted is my Iveco in the early stages of conversion. 8m long 2.4m wide.
If you are not used to driving larger vehicles being confident with the width can take some getting used to as well as the length.

I'd worry more about running costs and how easy it is to park - just thinking on the big yank rv's and problems people have with size and running costs

Just tried to post a few pics of my conversion, but they won't post, anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
