Good evening friends. We're off to Belgium in November for the Christmas markets, we need a campsite or site for two or three nights one Brussels (outside the lez) as close as possible as we may need to Uber or bus into the centre with our dog. We've looked on the usual apps, but wondered if anyone on here had a secret place that they wouldn't mind sharing 😁.

Thanks. Colin. 🙂

I've used the sports centre at Grimbergen before to visit Brussels, it's a fair way out but there's a regular bus service that stops right outside. I think also you can get a pass for the lez if you apply in advance and I saw street parking by the old docks, right next to the tram station but I imagine that gets filled up quickly.

Belgium has 3 or 4 cities with LEZ . Very easy to get pass .
There appears to be a few spots within LEZ but tram ride away from centre .
Check the usual apps

Just got onto a website urban access for vehicles in Europe (i think ?). Not sure but it definitely said Motorhomes are exempt vehicles when looking at day pass . Could be wrong so please check.

If staying outside the LEZ is not critical, there is at least one option close to the centre of Brussels.

Thank you ST, we've applied for an exemption, but even if we get it it'll probably be too late. Hopefully Grimbergen is outside any lez, I'll look on the map and we can try that🤞👍🙂

Thanks TJBi. It's not critical, but I think ita about £30 a day. We're Cat 4 .

Grimbergen does appear to be outside the LEZ, There appears to be suitable parking at https://www.campingcar-infos.com/aire-grimbergen/view.php?id=30662 but there are comments about noise, particularly from aircraft. CCI has a couple of other locations just outside the LEZ, but these also have some negative comments, including aircraft noise. If you get a pass, you have these inside the LEZ:

Thank you TJBi. We're not too worried about aircraft noise for a couple of nights (we live near mildenhall, lakenheath, watisham so we have various aircraft passing overhead at night including the window rattling Osprey and Apache helicopters😁). I'll look at these properly when I get home. Much appreciated, thank you. 🙂👍

In that case, here is another one:

Looking at Street View using the link in that record, you can see a motorhome in the parking area.

The other that I had in mind was in Tervuren, but Street View suggests that a building has been erected on the former parking area. There may, however, be a few other potential locations in that area.

I've just joined the campingcar infos thing as above for 90 days but can't see the photos or reviews, any ideas please? Thank you.🙂

Slight thread drift but my Hilux is a Euro 6 diesel. I thought this satisfied the UK LEZ's so thought I would check.

Yes it's good to go into any of the Scottish LEZ's but not the London one without paying per day. That surprised me. I guess their limit is tigher?

They should all be there. What device/OS are you using? If Android, are you using the Android app (downloaded from Play Store) or the web app?

We stayed just outside the LEZ in Dilbeek, W of Brussels. Nice spacious car park in a sweet village. Bus stop was just 2 mins walk and, from memory, about 30 mins ride into city centre. Worked a treat - we spent 3 nights there. Nice friendly place with some good cafes and shops.

Hallo, I live in Anderlecht. There is an area designed for motorhomes nearby (campinbrussels.com). Very close to metro 5. If you enter via the Erasmus hospital you will skip the LEZ cameras. Alternatively, Dilbeek has a few parking for motorhomes near the town hall, but reaching central Brussels is more problematic (lot of traffic also for buses). Otherwise and more generally, motohomes have never been welcome in Brussels :-(

Hi. Thank you. I'll keep that in mind, but it seems we've been granted an exemption for our motorhome that lasts 5 years, just in time for our visit😁👍
