Breakdown cover with a dog

has anyone actually had to be repatriated with a pet?
is the recovery truck willing to call via pet passport first?

I recently had the privilege of spending a week at the citroen garage in honfleur, but at least I drove in under my own steam and chose the garage myself. but with 2 dogs in tow, it was the dearer fix it in france choice, over the recovery with dogs scenario

I've been repatriated from France twice now. Once with a car and then with a Sprinter commercial. On both occasions I came back and the vehicle came separately. Having said that I've seen several motorhomes towed into the freight area in Ouistreham, then towed on board with a breakdown truck waiting in Portsmouth to take over.
