The launch of the Bournemouth Air Festival 30th Aug – 2nd Sept has just taken place.
I know many of you visit it & as mentioned in prevous years the best viewing place, for motorhomers is Boscombe overcliffe drive.

Free all day parking, acres off cliff top area for picnics & the bowling club at the end of woodland walk provides meals & snacks throughout the day. 50.722032,-1.825986

I can quarantee the planes will fly directly over you because each year the little rascals fly directly over Chez Dezi.

hi Dezi, we drove to Boscombe recently and could not park on the over cliffe you talk about , and we were in a car,[ did eventually ] I would like to park there in my Camper but I doubt I would be able to, great place as you say but very busy at this time of year especially with the great weather at the moment.NOT ,LOL
https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=50...51,-4.064941&sspn=7.595141,19.753418&t=m&z=16, the Red Arrows are doing a fly past and display over Southampton Water on Tuesday next ,after 6 PM as the P.n O liners sail, we called in at the THS,CCC.at Netley to see friends who are Camping there, the site is full as many people want to see the mass sail out of the Liners 7 of them in line, should be a good sceptical ,but as we live near Southampton Water it is old hat to us [ Yawn ]

Hi,If I remember correctly several people asked me about this problem last year. It does get busy during the day, great views wonderful beaches.

The only answer is to arrive EARLY on normal days about nine is ok, but on air festival days campers turn up at six to cook breakfast & leave around ten at night after an evening meal in the Commodor.

That would be great but I doubt my 8 metre Camper parked there all day would endear me to the locals or others trying to park there either.

On Air festival days yours would not be out of place.

The overcliff has over half a mile of continuous free parking but as you are rightly concerned about the locals "ME" try parking this end, nobody to overlook you or complain.

That looks about where we eventually were able to park, first time I had ever been to Boscombe too, had a super walk on the prom and pier and rode the Vernicular up the cliffe, { why does it cost more to go up than down } captive audience I guess, we tried to get lunch at the pub on the beach, { Whetherspoons is it } but there was a two hour wait so passed on that.we saw several smaller Campers parked along the prom after the roundabout but there was a length limit as I remember, super place to visit we thought, only took us 66 years to get there.LOL

As Dezi says, get there early and you will get a park, just hope the weather is better this year

We (me, the missus and the dogs) have decided that we will just stay with Dexy for a week when this event is on. Might even stay for a few weeks if the grub is good.

Where is the C&CC THS in Netley vindiboy? Is it at the country park?

We are thinking of driving down on Tuesday night if the traffic is not too bad.

There is a CCC ...CS site at Parley Glade ,West Parley right next to Hurn Airport, we camped there one year on a Rally A lot of the Aircraft for the show took off and landed at Hurn so it was / is a great place to watch the Planes if that is your bag.
