Thinking about a quick trip to Calais to to pick up a few cases to top up the old wine cellar ( joke) On previous return trips from France we have used City Europe. Can any forum members recommend other wine warehouses or any of the larger French supermarkets in the Calais’s area that may have good deals on price / quality / Value etc for wines? Cheers in advance.

We always use pidou’s for beer and wine, but we don’t use the one in Calais, because there are always migrants hanging around there, even seen them opening trailer doors with the driver in the motor. We go up to pidou at dunkirk, it is on the way towards the ferry terminal, in a secure lorry park. It is on the way towards Adinkerk if you need to go there for tobacco.

The devils soup. 😂 😂 😂

Majestic have a premises in Calais. If you pre-order, it will all be boxed up and ready for you to collect. More time for lunch. Also means you can taste in the UK to choose what you want to buy.

We tend to stop at St Martin near Boulogne and use the Auchan there, we find less migrants there as well.

Second that for Majestic Calais. They have loads of wine there for tasting too, great for the non driver🤣 we bought a few more cases of wine when we were there. Sign up to Majestic Calais and you’ll get offers in the post too

We bought a barn in the Loire valley some 30 years ago and spent several happy years converting it into a Dez res.
We found that traveling towards any ferry port when heading home stock up with booze at least 30 miles away at an Auchon or SuperU.

Its usually cheaper.

Always go to pidou and then round to Calais wine superstore who have someone watching car park. Few migrants but not a problem
