I have found Dover Dunkirk is cheaper and use it whenever I am going North. It saves 25 miles.

We have booked this crossing in July too. £49 out for campervan with trailer. Returning DFDS Amsterdam to Newcastle £250. This crossing is always expensive, but means only 235 miles north when we get back. It takes a long time to travel 235 miles tootling along at 50mph!
Outwards, I'm driving down through Scotland and England and hubby and 2 daughters are flying down to Luton on Easyjet at night (£95 for all 3). It means he can work an extra day and the girls can go to school and it's a long journey to sit through. (630 miles Aberdeen to Dover)
We have been to France a lot, but this is our first time with the campervan.

Yes the Amsterdam /Newcastle and Rotterdam / hull are more expensive but do feel at bit like ' your on your holidays' great atmosphere band , cabin etc and a nice way to end the trip . Enjoy

Ours is a 5.5m camper and 2.5m trailer with 4 bikes on top of trailer.
