Back from a week touring around Norfolk and Suffolk. Weirdest thing ever was finding a body at the side of a country road. Seems though someone had taken a overdose in the end we managed to get an ambulance. Anyway my GF wrote this poem.
The Body By The Road
One day whilst driving far away
and watching little lambs at play.
I was taken by surprise
at the sight I saw before my eyes;
a body, by the roadside lay.
To assist and help without delay.
I pulled onto the grassy verge
and from my van I did emerge.
I rushed up to the body, still,
and shouted loudly with all my will;
“Can you hear me? Are you awake?”
and gave his shoulder a gentle shake.
There was no response, he was out cold.
To phone an ambulance would be bold
as where I was I had no clue
which made this task quite hard to do.
Luckily, a friendly passer by
stopped to ask what happened and why
this body was lying where it was,
I said, I did not know the cause.
He knew the road and village, near,
which brought about feelings of cheer.
We could now get help without delay
and happily go on our way.
