Blackrock sands near Portmadoc claims another victim....

That maybe so but unless you are local and know that its safe my immediate assumption would naturally be to assume its not. Least not for a four ton motorhome. Beaches change as has been mentioned even over a few hours.

Its extremely sad I Agree and it must be awful for those that have pretty much lost their motorhome. I wonder how they stand insurance wise. Certainly not something to gloat over but for those nutters who wrecked their cars in that ford just to get youtube views I have absolutely no sympathy. Absolute bell ends.
I imagine they'll be covered unless the insurers believe it's wilful negligence.

However they're unlikely to receive a payout sufficient to replace it like for like.

Well the gossip on that trusted (not) source Facebook is that they were told to move it and wouldn't and another one that it had broken down and they couldnt move it. Of course both are likely to be complete bollocks. Very sad though.

I can't actually remember when I last had a bath.....must be years.....our current flat only has a shower,, we've been there 4 years or so.

Tragic for the owners, a simple mistake can lead to their pride and joy being taken from them. They may even be from Europe with little knowledge of this place, or able to speak or read English warning signs. I hope their insurers cover them for their loss.
The signs are in Welsh, with English underneath, like most signs in Wales. Very confusing to non-natives.

We used to go to Black Rock a lot as kids, it was one of our favourite summer days out with parents or grandparents. Parking on the beach was free then.

Apparantly it was towed to safety but the " owner" just moved it somewhere else on the sands and when it was stuck the second time they couldn't get it pulled outwith 2 4x4 vehicles.
The tide has taken it away or so it seems:unsure:
I think this may be a hired van. Roller team Zefiros are commonly used by hire company’s, and if you zoom in on the rear you will see what could be hire company decals. Possibly they were not pleased with the hire company and thought this was a good way to get even, who knows.

My first thought was that this would be cheaper than the Ferry!

One of these images (no.2) is fake or a different van. In the original post with the link to Facebook the van has a large crescent shaped decal on the back. The decal is missing in the photo where the (ship) van is setting forth for Ireland. Or is that a faint outline on the van where the decal was? Anyroad, I'm confused.
