hi all , me and my better half are planing on leaving for bidford devon tomorrow , never been before but supposed to be very good spot for new years eve celebrations .
is there any where any of you could recommend to overnight in herbert the hymer

Not sure where and surprised that no one as answered but North Devon has several car parks which allow overnights stops try the council web sites

Just taken a look and it looks like its going to be a great night , I've looked for campsites within walking distance and the nearest is abbotsham 2.5 miles away , not sure if its open , bit of a distance to walk if your well sourced up :sleep-040: .

The council site says that there is plenty of parking. I am sure the notice boards will give you ample info. This time of year I cannot see them turning a paying customer away.

thankyou for your replies , the council site was usefull , why didnt i think of that
my inexperience shows.

It is better to park in the small car park on Barnstaple street across the river just down from the royal hotel.
A lot quieter than the big one along the quay,(very noisy with boy racers and right next to skate park)
I lived in Bideford for a number of years and yes NYE is good there. We are heading down there ourselves tomorrow afternoon, stopping in Appledore for the first night great spot.Lovely pubs and friendly people.

If fireworks are involved in the celebrations I should check out these car parks aren't being used for the displays
