when this was first brought in (2005??) it was for vehicles over 25 years old - i just missed a tax-free year by a few weeks when vandals wrote off my 1973 Saab a few weeks before i could have claimed tax free. shucks ....

there as been mot exempt vehicles for many years .
mine as been for 18 yrs now.
as to be looked after though and have real good checks , never know if or when it could be pulled over.
knew of lots before then though.

have a look at v112g . form.or v112 for under 3.5 tons .
mine is and as been for years .
in 2013 the govt said there was about 40,000 vehicles in uk that were . soon there will be more .
