Pedals

Ours has just passed mot.....but we'll have the pedals fitted by next year....:hammer::hammer:

why not just buy an mot exempt vehicle then you dont need to worry?
there are thousands out there.

Spoke to an MOT tester today and he clarified the position. The new MOT standards are for 2008 vehicles and above and they come into force at the end of May and they will be very strict. I am looking for a pre 2005 sprinter with the 2.7 five cylinder engine as there are no DPF exhaust system fitted to this motor.

Booked my car in here and ask if any changes, none in N/Ireland,so come get tested here.

Having read about there being new rules about HID leadlamps, I was interested to read exactly what they say, because my motorhome has after-market HID lamps in headlights that are sometimes supplied with HID and sometimes supplied with bulbs. So the exact wording might make a big difference.

I'm not a huge fan of third-hand info, especially when it has been through a journalist's misunderstanding filter. So I decided to compare the "before the change" MOT tester's manual with the "after the change" draft version.

I can't see any difference except in the phrasing and layout of the text.

Before: m4s01000701 to m4s01000805

After: https://assets.publishing.service.g...lasses-3-4-5-and-7-from-20-may-2018-draft.pdf pages 53 to 56

Can anyone else identify where it is a change?

hi
is it the headlight washers on hid need to work now.

Year of vehical

Like out van is a 55 plate, registered in 2006 but according to the vin plate (as I found out when getting the new engine) it was built in 2004. So what will be the date they go from, surely it can't be reg date if they state the year of manufacture?

What is a mot exempt vehicle apart from a farm tractor.

have a look at v112g . form.or v112 for under 3.5 tons .
mine is and as been for years .
in 2013 the govt said there was about 40,000 vehicles in uk that were . soon there will be more .

when this was first brought in (2005??) it was for vehicles over 25 years old - i just missed a tax-free year by a few weeks when vandals wrote off my 1973 Saab a few weeks before i could have claimed tax free. shucks ....
