I still use the BBC app for local weather when we're away, but we're off to France today and only the first week of our trip is planned. After that we may decide to move around Europe according to the weather.

I wonder what weathet apps others use for planning where to go when travelling.

I use The Weather Channel app and Accuweather.com (not the app the browser version) for its minutecast feature.

The minutecast feature provides very good rain predictions and the radar seems more accurate than The Weather Channel app version. The Weather Channel features hourly forecasts which I find useful for wind strength and direction which helps with positioning the van so that we sit outside on the leeward side with the canopy wound out for shade if that happens to be the sunny side.

Yes I know I could tell wind direction by just standing with my back to the breeze however I want to know how the direction and strength is going to change during the course of the day. Those who have canopies will understand the need for this knowledge!

That combined with shower forecasts and we may or may not be able to sit outside even in the rain under the canopy depending.

Windy.com is excellent and pretty accurate. Choose wind or rain or temp etc. you can get predictions for surfing, chemicals in the air, and about 40 other forecast components. I also like that you can zoom in to any where you want and get a 1 to 25,000 outdoor map similar to OS. And with walks highlighted. Also pinpoints your location.

I like Weather and Radar.

And we are crossing on Friday, maybe we'll see you over there!
You never know. We are going to head to Orleans, explore for a day, and then stopping just north of Limoges for a few days.

After that - who knows? We're bimbling around for 6 weeks.

If you are looking for a stop going south from Limoges, there's a really good aire in a town called Objat, near Brive la Gaillard. Good facilities, 16 amp electric, on the edge of a park with a nice walk into town. The restaurant in the park is good, and it's dog friendly.

Is the aire so good that you didn't want to submit it in the Location App?

Oops! I did submit The Reubens pub in Leeming Bar just this morning, do I get let off?
Will you be submitting Objat? If not, I'll make a note to do so. Given that locations don't appear for others until Phil has approved them, I wouldn't want to duplicate anything that you may have done or intend doing.
