Best tv - what’s your choice?

I’ve just bought the L248 drs Avtex for Germany and find it a superb tv and sound is not bad at all .Cheapest in this country I could find was £399 got mine for £308 plus 17 quid postage .

I got a 16" Akura 12v TV about five years ago and still going strong. I bought it because of its low power usage. 1.2 amps or 14 watts. Good picture and viewing angle but I use a pair of small USB speakers (less than a tenner) and just power them of the TVs USB port. Sounds great. It was about £90

Dont know if you can still get them

Thank you all for your replies. Will see if I can get a deal on an Avtex.

First night in new van...... happy days:cheers:

We have a Avtex tv, brought as the previous older Viewsonic had lousy viewing angles, plus wanted the included sat tuner and low running power.
IIRC ours is the L185DRS, got it from xsitems as a return, it's fairly good for a small tv, and am pleased with it, but don't expect the picture and sound quality of a full sized Panasonic.

Mine's an Avtex... about 6 years old now but it's still pretty perfect with great picture and sound quality.
It's true that all flat screen TVs struggle in the sound department... I've even had to buy a sound bar for my home Sony Bravia because it seemed so tinny. Not so with the Avtex though. I've been very happy with it.

The only negative for the 'con' column would be that mine uses 2amps, when I know other models use less

I have noticed that the 18.5 inch Avtex is only HD ready whilst the 21.5 inch version is full HD, is the reason for this the amount of pixels on a smaller screen is less important?

HD t.v's have an HD tuner and HD ready tv's dont but have a connector in the set by which to connect Sky or some other source of Hi Def
