Beepers ???

Googled that and yes you can, never noticed it before

Use Street View Layer
  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app .
  2. At the top, tap Layers. Street View.
  3. Blue lines on the Map indicate Street View coverage. Tap on any blue line to enter Street View.
And it works with WiFi off too

Odd beep never worried me, different matter if they go round in circles beeping.

Never realised how many people it annoyed, perhaps a hobby I'll consider taking up. 😝 😂

Have you seen some of the POIs on the WC app, they are virtually on the bloody road.

I have all the POI in my TomTom and it speaks to me in a sweary voice whenever one is about to appear when we are driving along. Some of them beggar belief. They might be just off the A1 motorway or the A66. I Cant help but wonder who on earth would stop the night on some of them but then I guess it depends how you wild camp. They might be a good refuge for someone who has driven all day and its dark and they are looking for somewhere just to get their heads down for a few hours.

Our needs are probably quite different. I tend to want to get the van parked up early so I can go off on the bike and I rarely want to stop just one night. Its probably why we tend to use the CL network these days more than wilding unless Im somewhere like the Isle of Arran.

I think some might be just someone taking the pi$$ by adding them, so many are not verified either and most have no comment in the reviews, some of course were added a long time before the review option.

I did think about reporting the awful ones but it'd look like I had an axe to grind so I only reported the ones where there was a danger or that you could no longer park there at all.

Some are on double yellows and or outside a house.

I would always use streetview or google earth to check a spot out before travelling. I presume you do the same. Ill even do that in Europe although its a problem in Germany as they are a bit sensitive about all that stuff and hardly anywhere has streetview available.

To be honest though, I Cant remember the last "new" wild spot we stayed on.
