Two pack was banned years ago because it cyanide, the guy that painted or racing outfit used it.No air feed mask, vaseline very mucky,yep truck painters used single pack synth,dont know why as two pack would be better and fast dry.

Yeah got through mask as well - the grey bbc bodies used a 2 part paint isocyanite based which needed better mask - new trailer chassis sprayed out the back in summer - safety and HSE what was that then - clean the new body white spirit +acetone mix and quick flat with 180 grit - 1 guy even did it with trunks on out back in the sun summer timeNo air feed mask, vaseline very mucky,yep truck painters used single pack synth,dont know why as two pack would be better and fast dry.

That will do a lot of damage if you slip - it will do the job but it is unforgiving - need 2 hands to operate safely - it will be too heavy

Anyway done some more on van back / side / and front including cleaning the graphics / now leaves 1 side graphics to remove / couple of small dinks to fill with gel coat filler / fit graphics and wax / i'm certainly happy with how it has come up so far it is looking very good for the age / and that is understated with how it looks / plastic skirt lets it down but i will sort something - son suggested a tool to remove graphics so waiting for that now seemed to work well on a u tube video

I think skirts need to come off to prepare them properly dont think it will last if sprayed in situ - put some armorall on graphics and over front wheel where it has peeled and it has put some life back in - but i think a compressed airline and blow the lacquer off will work - and try armorall again

Well i'm going to take van down goring gap tomorrow ferring end and if anyone wants to look how it has come up so far they are welcome - i respect people for honest answer and they can tell people if it has come up well or not - trying to get someone to check alarm so hopefully he wont say he will do it tomorrow i'll update if he does

Spent about 6 hrs today cleaning off what i thought would be hardest graphic above window transfer had cracked all the way along and prepared for transfer
guess what dont have the transfer - need to order one now about 38mm wide and 6m long charcoal black in colour - carry on with the rest and come back to this one - rest are there best i can see

Rubbish only car 2 pack was banned,industry stuff is still on the market,look up juton clark ,sigma,international paints,strange also i just finished painting my van in 2 pack .
Cars are painted with water base and laqured with 2 pack clear coat.

Yeah Dave think it is only 1 missing - i'll see if i can find receipt and try my luck with them either way cant be that expensive 38mm wide bit of straight vinyl - you having the side graphics with the van is a huge bonus and i hate to think what they cost - the blue graphics have fared very well - the black have dried out and split/crazed from sunlight - only gonna remove the bad cracked ones - rejuvenate what is left both sides and try patch repair on them which i think i will get away with - the side with crazed graphics has had paint done at some point which may of contributed to why graphics are bad on that side - more to the point i am well happy with van it is coming up wellI ordered and paid for a full side, and collected from Germany??? I must have been ripped off then

Found receipt 12 items total although no item 6 on receipt bill is correct you was never given or charged for it - 11 items is what the bill is for and that is what i have gotI ordered and paid for a full side, and collected from Germany??? I must have been ripped off then

I know you’re not wanting tips etc but after all that hard work I’d recommend coating with some ceramic glaze, about £10 off the bay before you put any wax on. Really easy to apply and last for years if occasionally Topped up with wax polished. Makes a massive difference.

You are right about ceramic coatings they give an excellent finish - but you will get what you pay for quality wise - new van very worthwhile - 16 yr old van not so sure ( value wise it is bottom money although condition wise very good for age Dave ( beemer ) certainly looked after it and i have put life back into paintwork ) - only got the side i'm doing the graphics on left to wax - and by cleaning by hand/machine you can spot some problems early - should be able to clean and wax sides front and back now in under 6 hrs and i'm happy with that ( roof always hard work and time consuming takes as long as it takes )
