We finally got to travel the complete circuit last Wednesday while staying with friends in the Midlands.
We parked the car in the “the Kings head” pub Hagley rd. 52.472109,-1.968318 the bus stop is just outside.

Our first stop was Bourneville village & then it was up & down the stairs every few miles either to view something of interest, or for liquid top ups & toilets.
It was somewhere north of Stechford that we got our first whiff of wacky baccy drifting down from the rear of the bus & this gradually got stronger as people got on & off.
By the time we got to Aston hall & the Villa ground we on the front seats were very happy folk with daft grins & the top deck was reeking.

The route goes past Winson green prison so we were able to wave at Old Arthur & Capt Mainwaring “both doing 7 days for drunk & disorderly on Christmas eve”.
We finally ended up back at the Kings head for a late lunch.

Something different to do & very enjoyable.

Dream on Dexy.

You are too scared to go north of Bournemouth.

Did you get some travel books or a DVD for your birthday?

At least you will have had a nice Christmas with all the other old folk in your seaside retirement home. I bet you looked nice with your paper hat. I hope you got some nice warm slippers from Santa.

Dementia is a terrible thing. :p

Funny you should say that. For the past 20 odd years we have been members of a team that transports folk to a charity thats puts on a Christmas dinner for them.

The only criteria is that the individual would otherwise be on their own & lonely.

So we might collect a couple of down and outs from a hostel, not unlike you & the old Un, & then we are picking up elderly widows from half a million pound flats on the seafront.

Everybody seems to get on fine.
