BBQ's on campsites?

Are bbq's allowed on French /Spain campsites? Charcoal or gas? Or do they supply a bbq area?

On many of the Spanish sites in natural forest areas they have been systematically banning Charcoal BBQ's, due to the amount of fires that have been started !! (Costa Brava)

Thank you. I'm quite drawn to a humorous response but it's obvious what the OP is bothered or has heard stories about and some degree of factual help is nice also.

Must say, you've lost me, something obviously been said, missed it due to having a life !!

Far too defensive sir.
It was a genuine compliment at the first straight answer to the OP.
I believe the OP will have seen things such as https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080723083818AAHdm5g though I can't find anything for Spain. I assume the reliability of the responses on here will be far greater if we get straight answers. It only requires one or two to resist taking the rip.
I wouldn't know if reports of restrictions are valid or as believable as the reports of friends who were gassed and robbed.

Some campsites here have there own bbq areas so i am told but i never use campsites when fishing on the beach we some times have them but never when we wild camp the police then call that camping and not parking for the night and get upset,

Not defensive, just a statement of fact, last weekend I had a life, this weekend, I will be gardening :(

Too many 1st post replies never answer the actual OP, and the thread soon goes OT, thought it may have been a split thread.

Please don't mention Gassing, I am sure that happened in 1979, woke up in 93 bugger was married with 2 kids, it was either that or the wine ??

Try Portugal, here barbecuing is a national culture, and are very nearly compulsory. There are laws about open fires in summer because of forest fires but as far as I am aware these do not apply to barbecues though it would be very inadvisable to try using one of those disposable ones directly on the dried up grass.

Thanks one and all.I must say I found all the replies informative !Weve been having a chuckle as I read out some of them to swmbo! Usually put a couple of crumpled beer cans under a disposable.Always use charcoal. In campervans we've had over the years Ive made small bbq's (cos Im a tight git) from a oven meat tray on a small stand, with grille tray small mesh panel on top .Always have the f/extin very close. Probably have to go on a site now and then to service the water, loo etc, and also to satisfy the craving for a bbq!

I'd be more worried about the meat you putting on the BBQ , "would you like bull or donkey sir " E OR !!!.
