Spent the last week trying to find the reason why my batteries only show 12.5v each morning while showing specific gravity of 1300 I have 4x yuasa pro spec batteries giving 480 amps.I have a sterling pro combi charger inverter set to equalizer charge for 3 hrs then normal charge following morning 12.5v.Obviously something wrong disconnected charger-inverter next day same 12.5 disconnected battery to battery chargers recharged next day 12.5v charged off solar 200w with victron charger next day 12.5.
Priced 4 new batteries £640 swmbo goes crackers today phoned mate brings his multimeter checks batteries 12.7v.I lent my multimeter out last year came back destroyed so bought chinese cheappie for £12 threw it across garden at wall.
Todays moral too mean to pay £100 for quality tester nearly paid £640 instead wondered why specific gravity readings were spot on . First time in a week I have got a smile on my face.

hi
i had some dodgy readings on my multimeter i changed the 9v battery
and its ok now. its just a cheapy from maplins

I've always wondered why people who buy a cheapo multimeter expects to be accurate to the nearest 0.1v. Test it against a calibrated one and adjust accordingly.
