Hello Folks
Got a problem with the charge light glowing dimly on my 1997 Hymer Swing. I had a new alternator fitted last week and now the light glows unless I disconnect the 12v input/ output multiplug on the Schaudt EBL 104 unit fitted to the van. Before the alternator was changed I had the good old battery light glowing with no key in the ignition trick. This was a fault in the diode pack in the alternator and is well known. The fridge 12v switch was also glowing even when the engine was off, but that is back to normal now and I can see the relay in the Schaudt unit going in when the engine starts, which is as it should be.
Not convinced the leisure battery is charging though because on the control panel the engine battery goes over 14v when the engine is running, but the leisure battery stays at about 13v. The mains side of the charging seems to be unaffected.
Anyway, I've got a headache now with all the reading of circuit diagrams in German :sleep-027:and hanging upside down in the van. Need parcetamol first then beer later on.
Any advice gratefully received.
Thanks
Harold
