I spoke to Campbell's, on the phone, and was instructed, by their fitters that they do not fit the snipe on the roof.
Reason being if they have a fault, they have to be sent back to Avtex, and will need taking off and putting back.
He also said there is a new Avtex Snipe coming out, but they haven't got any, so does not know about them.
I looked on line and the Avtex Snipe Pro, is made to be fitted. Looks good too.
So, now , do I chose the portable Snipe, and pop on the roof when stopped ? Much cheaper.
Or, do I go for the newer , more expensive, improved Snipe Pro, fitted on roof?
Decisions , decisions.
Is it more expensive and awkward to have a broken Snipe taken off the roof to be sent back? I know ! , I can answer that myself, lol, but I think I mean, what may the odds be, and to how much cost. There are moving parts, so something will go wrong sometime.
I do like pro controls put on the inside, they look good
We have thought of popping the Snipe out of the hie key roof, and connecting it with a flat wire into inside, with the roof closed if need be.
