Availability of diesel in Europe in the coming months

According to Google AI 12% of UK's oil imports come from Gulf states, and it's mainly diesel and jet fuel. I then asked how much we imported from India, and it then list this as a significant amount.

Much (80% during the 80's/90's) of BP's crude from Fortes Fields ended up exported from Hound Point (image below). I actually do not know if Hound Point still exports since Grangemouth closure?

ExxonMobil closed their the Mossmorran ethylene plant in Fife early this year, with what is going on in the ME, closures of key processing plant here in Scotland, makes for worrying times.

Interesting video here.

If you watch to the end its also scary how we are now so dependent on the US for gas as is Europe.

I'm near there, it does seem to still be operating.
Good to hear, I use to watch numerous tankers filling up the from my workshop window at Edinburgh College Granton Campus. The Firth is a busy estuary.

I'm on the other side, in the Kingdom.

I'm in France at present though returning to the UK on Friday.

Total's diesel price is 2.09 per litre everywhere and way cheaper than other outlets. Their service stations are busy.

I suspect the French government may have applied some pressure...

Have you found availability is generally okay? After a sick dog delay, we are hoping to get over later this week.

Apparently 600 Repsol stations in Spain offer green diesel manufactured from waste vegetable oils and animal fats. Not very vegan or vegetarian friendly so I do wonder what this group make of this?

Just checked and Spanish green diesel can be used in the Fiat Ducatto adblue based van that we have if needs must.

Is that because the supplies that are already held are likely to run dry then?
It may be the start of putting measures in place to extend the life of the available fuel in storage. Petrol is not so much of an issue however diesel is with heavy oil producers Russia, Venuzuala and the middle east out of the equation for the time being.

We are in southern Spain at the moment and pondering what to do as we have a Bilbao ferry booked for 21st April.

We would rather make a 2 day dash to Bilbao however do we need to be on the north coast of Spain near the ferry port earlier than we had planned for?

It's a campsite rather when an aire, but we have stayed at Sopelana - there's a nice beach, restaurants and a supermarket all close by. If you have a dog, the vet is within walking distance and was really reasonable. It's a nice place to spend a few days.

Japanese oil and gas vessels allowed through the Straits en route to India, and Japan working on a continuing deal with Iran ... Meanwhile, UK isn't ...
