Ascension Day

Were in Austria drove through quite a few places, we thought there must of been an Apocalypse as everything is closed and I mean everything even bars & restaurants, and there's not a soul anywhere 😬
Not surprising. All Souls Day is 2 November. ;)

Which is why we decided to leave Annecy early tomorrow morning, much less traffic to contend with.

CP next to aire has been heaving since the holiday started, Thursday it was, right now, pick your spot, near empty.

listening to the radio on the eve of the holiday, reports of huge delays at Mont Blanc entering into Italy.

This morning was the same, with the huge delays returning to France.

Anyways, one downside of living on an island is no borders to contend with.

Just discovered another problem with Ascension day traffic, everyone that has gone away on Ascension day all return on Sunday!! Just took three hours on the A84 to cover 30 miles

Wouldn't have thought the good people of Stirling were into Ascension day.

Or did you mean "Le A84" ?

We have the tunnel booked for wed afternoon.....
I planned that well , didn't I.

Where did you stay on Annecy? The way things are going I reckon we will be arriving there early July. Probably around Bastille day which will be mental!

I wasn't sure whether you were maybe being serious, and genuinely pleased to have booked for Wednesday :ROFLMAO:

You don't have to worry unnecessarily about finding an aire. If you don't need facilities you can park in any public car park. Small villages in less popular places are ideal to ride out a traffic/travel problem.
