Food prices have steadily been increasing for around 18 months but nobody has started a thread about it, even now when some prices have almost doubled. I don't mind the temporary increase in fuel because the action in the Middle East will stop the slaughter of civilians by a dreadful regime (which could easily do great harm to us) and give the people their freedom back again.

From what I see reported, civilians are still being slaughtered by a dreadful regime, just not the same one.

Sainsburys have increased the differential between unleaded and diesel to a whopping 16p per litre - profiteering, supercilious so-and-so's

Just for context, heating oil has gone up from around 60p/litre to £1.47/litre ..... (according to 'boiler juice' which are usually very accurate)

You might still be the lucky one. There is allegedly only a few days of gas reserves, it is forecast to get a lot colder by the weekend and the Grid will struggle if everyone uses their electric fires.

My Grandson was telling me that he is involved in the commissioning of a new gas fired Power Station. Hopefully there will be enough gas to power it.
