Anyone using a stone deflector?

Saw something similar yesterday fitted above the windscreen presumably to protect the panel above from chips (of the stone variety). Anyone have experience of using one of those?

I'm having trouble finding one for my 2006 MK2 Ducato, the one Amazon says it's for a 1994-2002 and all the others are 2006 onwards (MK3). Although I can't see why the 1994-2002 wouldn't fit 🤔 it looks the same as mine in the picture  I had a 1996 which was still a MK2 and the grille was different. I'll just keep on looking.

They are used as a sun shade in hotter climes than we have here in the UK.

I was feeling left out so purchased one to cover the marked bonnet. Will need a wee bit of tweaking when the rain stops as it is slightly raised in the centre.

Has anyone any view on whether these things will just push any road detritus/bugs etc up into the overhang? Possible damage risk from deflected stones?

Mine is a lowprofile with virtually no overhang.

The majority of it particularly insects / bugs go right over the top and onto the windscreen of the vehicle behind

This one is cheaper if price is an issue.

The price isn't a problem but because I'm full time I prefer to buy off Amazon as they will deliver to local post offices, meanwhile I've found this one:

I'll leave it until after the RR Easter meet now and then order it.

Ok then Amazon will be the best choice ............... personally, i have a huge hatred of them and would rather do without but that`s a different story.

Well its got to go somewhere.. :)

hence my concern for those who don't have a low profile!

So how do the stones know to bounce of the deflector what’s to stop them going I’m not going to be deflected I’m striking above the black plastic 😂😂 seriously is this just an expensive add on to look pretty but is pretty useless.
Think I might go for a Bonnet Bra sounds more girlie

On a slight tangent…. Does anyone else think there are less bugs around? I remember in the summer the bonnet and windscreen being plastered. Doesn’t seem to happen now.

I know this an old thread but picked up on it when looking for a Ducato bonnet protector. The lack of bugs is a serious issue and is a very good indicator of the decline in bugs which are essential to nature and natures survival. Bugs are essential food for many small animals. I think a survey was carried out using a bug count on vehciles.

I would be more concerned about the w screen and h lights than a tin hood which can easy be repainted.
