An old friend of mine got remarried last weekend in this bonny wee camper down in Derbyshire.

Anyone else whose wedding transport was a camper van? :)

I read on here, I think, about a couple who married at Gretna, then carried on their honeymoon with some friends ,in their campers. I think it might have been one of the earliest meets. Sounded like good fun and not without its problems. I seem to recall that one van broke down.

Never married in a camper but have consummated our marriage many times in one.

Just don't tell Izzy.:scared::scared:

I know someone who had their honeymoon in a camper at the Hereford meet a couple of years ago.
We had a wonderful wedding reception for them.
Thanks Bill and Annie.

Take more than a camper to get me down the isle, ille? aisle? or whatever it’s blooming called. Gangway! that’ll do. :p

Loads of us attended Charlie and Karen's wedding in our vans.

It was actually a hand fasting ceremony conducted by one of the druids from Stonehenge. We then all continued on to a nearby pub for a meal and a beer or two and stayed there overnight.

A grand do it was too.

What about a aging granny with millions in the bank, think of the new hymer that may come your way.:scared::lol-053::lol-053::lol-053:

Forever the romantic we had a fiat panda ! rocked up at the registry office 9.30 ( I got in to trouble for that bit) went to the pub for a reception and shot off to the lakes via Stockport

Wedding night Windernere hotel ( see treat a girl bought her a babycham too) following night a B & B in Ambleside rest of the week camping in a tent at Tarn foot farm Loughrigg one of my favourite places on the planet so we were camping. Trough with a cold tap, toilet and it hasn't changed so that makes it pretty wild,

Anyone with a small van (access) a cracking stopover £3 per person per night that's if Mr Murohy can be arsed taking your money more interested in his Beef and sheep

Not bad views either

Oh, wow! :(

Looks like there was no response, but it was a long time ago - 2004 - when this website was still in its infancy, I guess?

Blimey, they'd organised a hog roast & everything. Wonder if they're still married? :)

If you put a post up like that these days you'd have to block the roads to stop the hordes descending! :lol-049::lol-061::hammer: :rolleyes2:

No wonder they left the forum, that must have felt like a slap in the face.

I think there was a further thread at the time and quite a few did go.

Somebody posted about it last year.

Yeah, I bet.

But t'internet was still fairly young-ish back then, so not as busy.

Similar situation to wild camping itself at that time, I guess :p :)

i recently saw a beautiful cream 1960's VW camper which had been fitted out just for weddings ... with a little champagne fridge and beautiful upholstery - i dont know how much they wanted to charge to hire it for wedding transport but it would be a really memorable journey to the marriage venue...

Don't know about getting married.
There's a fair few who decided to get divorced, while in a camper.
