Any spot to stay near Weymouth

Hello, we are nibbling away at the coast path and next wish to walk from Weymouth toward Poole. Any suggestions. Thanks
 
Go over to Portland. At the first roundabout turn left. There is a Windsurfer Testing Centre on the left. We have used the car park on a couple of occasions. Nice and quiet. If you are not happy there you can travel further up the road and turn right and park in the dead end road. No signs of any sort and never been bothered. SWMBO likes this one so it must be good.

If you drive further up the road to the sailing section there is also a bar.

CR Kingston is a real nice quiet forest carpark, then you can drive off a few miles to Durlston Country Park and park, up right on the SW coast path.
 
there is (or at least was when I was there in september this year) a huge redundant P&R carpark in weymouth one side of the road has been taken over by members of the 'travelling community' (who would be significantly less of a problem if they actually travelled) but the other side side is wide open with no signage Im sure that you would escape notice there (and if any one did complain you could just point across the road!
