Building a fire upside down ie. with the larger logs at the bottom and kindling at the top is a good way to make a fire last all night.

There are a few other methods to achieve this too.

I've always loved a good fire Marie, even for cooking I prefer it to gas.

Problem is, there are fewer and fewer places you can do it now. Might even fire up my Woodgas stove and mini campfire kettle in a minute just to get a photo' or two. :)

Just tried to find it but Julie said it's in the cabin.

That means buried beneath Daughter and family's worldly possessions so she said she'll dig it out for me at the weekend.
