I notice that all/most of the replies here are from men. What about female solo wilders...?

Don't forget Nichodia :D But, I guess many women would not feel safe on their own in a remote location. Perhaps a campsite offers greater security in that respect.

Actually, as a female I've been soloing for years...following some sensible rules which other threads on here have described in the past, and have met quite a lot of other wildy gals out there. I now have a couple of canines who look after me really well... but twas not always so...for many years me an the poodle camped on our own...she could give you a nasty lick if you crossed her!:D
