If anybody needs an aluminium storage box for back of motorhome, we have just had one made by:

It is very well made. Fits onto the bike rack. They were very helpfull, made it quickly and would recommend them. They make up to your own specifications.

We just bought an old aluminium trunk which is ideal for the job. Collected it yesterday and it's great. £39.99 off EBay. Allow £10 for security alterations and it's a cheap alternative to the real thing. I guess Angela's may look a bit smarter though! lol

I picked up 2 alunimum boxes from a scrap yard for £20 for the pair. I think they are ammunition boxes, that is what the man said. Have my spare gas bottles and tools in there. Very handy.

That was an excellent find, those military grade Zarges can go up to £60 each, on ebay. I think there something like £200 new, or more.

Those triangle reflectors signify that it is a trailer.

Hi Sparky, I have another 2 fixed to my motor bike carrier which I have only just added. Will I or can I get in trouble with the cops under the driving laws? Let me know, would appreciate it. In case Sparky don't know, can any of you folks advise me. Thanks.

Need to check up but I would say just because they are a legal requirement on a trailer, that doesn't make them illegal on the back of a MH.

I knew I'd find it in the end:

The Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations 1989
SCHEDULE 18 PART I Requirements relating to obligatory rear retro reflectors and optional rear retro reflectors to the extent specified in part ii

8. Other requirements–
(a) Except in the case of a motor vehicle first used before 1st April 1986, any other vehicle manufactured before 1st October 1985 and a motor bicycle combination, where two rear reflectors are required to be fitted they shall form a pair. Where four rear reflectors are required to be fitted they shall form two pairs.
(b) No vehicle, other than a trailer or a broken-down motor vehicle being towed, may be fitted with triangular-shaped rear reflectors.
(c) A rear reflector shall not be fitted on a boot lid or other movable part of the vehicle.

Thank you Sparky, OFF they come. Rather safe than sorry. I don't like dipping my hands into my pocket for the Establishment. ☺☺☺

Any other shaped reflector is fine, not that you need them by law on the box but look better with. triangle is meant for a trailer. Silly rule but that's the law.
