cos my toilet reservoir water pump did not work.... the guy that fixed it for me recommended i buy pink stuff to put a wee capful into the cassette everytime i refilled it.... to stop it gunging up

It'll work, Colette.
A garden spray bottle with 10cc per litre pink solution , does the job too and doesn't fill the cassette as much as flushing.
Are we in danger of getting bogged down on this thread

Morning Gary,

Hope you are warm enough? Did you get some rain?

We gave up blue fluid, a couple of years ago. And are having reasonable success with the cheapest, simple,own brand bio washing powder. A tablespoon a day, keeps the whiff at bay. Give the cassette a swish round to get it digesting everything.
You'll have to clear all traces of the blue residue, before the bio kicks in properly. The first couple of weeks will need it emptying and rinsing after a couple of days. Put powder in to help it along.
There's lots of information on the forums, if you look.
Try Pingo Doce.

Certainly warm enough here Paul , we did get a drenching last night BIG time ,saves me having to water the plants and garden this evening Thanks for that, yes I've seen lots about Bio washing stuff, too much in fact I guess it's everyone has there own choices! Will pop into Lidl or Pingo this week to get some, Ohh yes and to top up our Vinho Tinto stock and Argus at the same time :cheers: Hope weather warms for you there ,sitting on terrace now in just me boxers with a nice G&T about 30 Degrees :tongue:
