Aldi have fire pits and lots of things camping and motorhome was there today:dog::camper::have fun:

aldi and lidl type goods can be bought at less money from trade outlets,cant see why folk go there for tools.
 
lidles have had a stack of gennies the last couple of times ive been in , dont seem to be selling many.

Aldi generators!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We regularly stay overnight/weekends at motocross meetings and only run our Honda 2.0i at breakfast and T time - everything else including the TV is from the leisure battery/gas. However, the paddock is like generator city and clearly most have a competition to see who has the noisiest, rattliest, oiliest, mankiest generator that they are allowed to run until 2300 hours. A good starting base to qualify for top anti social prize is to buy an Aldi/Lidl/Machine Mart model. Bob.

Cos a lot of their gear carries a THREE year guarantee Trev, no questions asked, unlike most other outlets who only give you 12 months.

Have you ever tried to use the 3 year (or 1 year guarantee) at Aldi? I have and it sucks :( I'd never buy that type of stuff from them again.

Thankfully not had need, but it can't be worse than Currys or Argos, they both suck big time. Would never step inside Currys again never mind buy from them.
 
Yes their warranty is crap. If you can find your receipt and it hasn't faded to a blank white sheet, you have to send it away at your own expense. We did that with a pc tower and it took more than a month. Costco and Asda are the business for warranties, no questions asked returns etc. Maybe an American thing.

Believe me it is much worse, you have to phone an 0800 number, pack it all up and send it to them at your own expense (they do however refund you eventually) and after about 4 weeks you have to call them to find out what's happening, they tell you it's no longer available (because it's a seasonal item) and will send you a cheque for the refund, 2 weeks later the cheque arrives for half the amount you paid for it (plus your original shipping) so you call them to find out why you're 50% light on the refund and they explain that it has a 1 year guarantee and you've used it for 6 months so they have to deduct 50% for wear and tear! I find it hard to believe that Currys or Argos could be worst than that :rolleyes2:

In contrast if you buy something from Asda (or Tesco) and take it back they give you a replacement one there and then (or an equivalent).

Lets hope I never have to find out, that sure is crap. Never had to return anything to Asda, but have to Tescos, one was a small travel TV which went wrong week before guarantee ran out, refunded no problem as they no longer stocked them, so bought a bigger 12v one, and also returned a Hudl 1 near end of guarantee, they offered an immediate refund or for £10 to upgrade to Hudl 2 which was due out within a couple of weeks, which I've had since. Excellent service.

i had a faulty grill from aldi. i could not find the bill but the manager
got me an other bill i rang the tel no give them the no off the bill and
they posted a new grill out. i kept the old one and repaired it myself.
it was only a blown shunt / fuse thing. just soldered some wire in. bobs
your uncle.

You seem to have had a better experience than me, I still won't be using them again though.
