Alarm problems.

Have swapped the hab door sensor battery and will try it later when my neighbours are fast on and I have finished my beer ! Not my leisure or engine batteries according to Sargent. Thanks guys

On second thoughts will try in the morning , me , the dog and my friend the baseball bat should keep us safe tonight.

Update , false alarm again yesterday so checked what I believe to be the battery. Is this the battery ? It is strongly magnetic and there does not appear to be any terminals. Having difficulty finding a replacement so any help appreciated. Meanwhile have disabled sensor by removing magnetic battery and no further false alarms.

No it’s the magnet on the door contact. The magnetic switch on your door frame is controlled by the magnet on the door. When the magnet is close to the door when the door is closed the switch is closed, When you open the door you take the magnet away opening the switch. The battery will be within the switch on the door frame. The battery will probably be a coin shaped battery.

Thanks Fisherman will have to look at the other part of the contact. No wonder I could not get a battery like it in Spain.!

We are suffering the same problem with false alarms sometimes within minutes of setting and sometimes after a couple of days! replaced main van battery and also the small coin type batteries but still cannot find the fault  :(

I had a problem with my pickup alarm going off several times during the small hours luckily I could reset from the bedroom window, I was not willing to disarm as there had been a spate of rural thefts happening.
Next day we were off in the motorhome and our eldest house sitting. We were just settling down for the night when Ruaidhri called to say the alarm was going off again even after resetting. After some thought I called him back thinking it may be the pickup not sitting on the level so move the pickup to level ground.
He then called back talking at a hundred miles an hour after climbing in to the cab something flew over his head and he scarpered, I had left the window slightly open a few nights before and a bat had flew in through the window and only started moving when it was getting dark setting off the alarm. 😂

This will be a process of elimination.
Remove the batteries from each detector one at a time until the alarm does not go off. By removing the battery you stop the detector from sending a signal. Rarely are detectors supervised on car systems, so this should work. The chances are it’s one of the detectors that has went into fault condition. just to confirm if you have identified a sensor as causing it put the battery back in, if the alarm goes off then you know for definite it’s that sensor. Of course it could also be a faulty receiver within the main panel. But this is well worth a try.
