I did have a broken shock the year before but had replaced both, but maybe it had already taken its toll on the torsion bars..
seems alko shocks are designated by colour, mine were blue.

:banana:Well well! Shocks arrived today, that's one day early. Alko shocks are sold by colour now! but they weren't originally. It took some effort on Alko's part to dig out drawings and identify the shocks fitted to my 1995 Kon-Tiki 640. There were many different shock absorbers used all of them black. I can't stress this enough you must fit the correct damper to your vehicle and it is specific to the Alko chassis on older campers. This is due to the relationship between the trailing link length and the damper attachment point length, the weight of the vehicle, the attachment point on the chassis, etc. Note: The older dampers work in reverse to a conventional damper. Alko is a major manufacturer of dampers for the automotive industry so it is no surprise that they would make dampers for their chassis. Fitting the wrong damper could easily make your vehicle a death trap.:scared:
