Aires App

That looks good.
I wish their was a snippet tool on here to collect all these great little bits of info. into one place.

I have the app having recently inherited an Android phone from my son! I also download the same information in POI format for my SatNav and a PDF file which includes pictures and full details of each location, useful for pre-planning. The site has been mentioned before on the forum but here it is again - direct link for;

I don't know if this has been mentioned before (apologies if it has ) but I have just come across this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.tbag.aires&hl=en_GB It can be used without being connected to the internet apparently. I haven't used it myself but thought it might be useful for those venturing across the channel who won't have t'internet or a sat nav.

Sue :)

Looks like a good app however this is what I got from Google when I tryed to download it

"If you're using an iOS device (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch), Windows Phone device, or Kindle Fire, you won't be able to download apps on Google Play."

It is only available for Android devices at present and will not work on IOS, however they are talking about it on the forums on campingcar-infos.com and it may be available in the near future.

I have the aire app used it in France in June just come home.its a great app it connects to sattalite to locate you then gives you a list of the aire nearest to you with info on the aire also will direct you using Google maps navigation or use the location for your satnav brilliant app

Have a look at onenote or pocket. You should be able to get a browser plugin to export into these 'note taking' apps.

looks good ! I have downloaded france onto my android tablet , but would like to add some other countries from the camping car infos site ; how do I do that ? what format do I use ? will it add on to the french icon ?

All the Aires - France and other countries

The link for getting the Aires as PDF file which is good for pre-planning and accessing offline is Tlchargez les aires de services pour camping car au format PDF

You put in your Surname (Nom), Chistian Name (Prenom) and email.

You will be sent an email witha link to download a compressed zip file containing the PDF file. It is large - 66Mb but worth having at your fingertips if going to the continent.

Another good app for wildcamping/aires/campsites is https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nl.nkc.camperplaats&hl=en_GB the free version need an internet connection but I think the paid one has all the data for offline use.

Maybe we need a separate section for just posting useful apps. There are so many that you can spend hours just browsing through them. I have a handy one for aligning your digital aerial it uses the GPS & compass on your phone/tablet & shows you which direction to point your aerial. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=uk.co.crazyhatter.aerialalign&hl=en_GB
