Just a reminder that the Bournemouth air festival is on the 18 – 21 August.

The great Dorset steam fair is on the 25 – 29 August.

See previous years posts for best free parking spots to view the Air festival and places for overnight parking for both shows,

or be a ruddy nuisance and ask me to reiterate it all again.

We will be exhibiting at the Lincoln Steam & Vintage Rally, 20th and 21st August if you want to go to something nearer.

Surely that depends on where you are starting from young sir.

As the person ( who was not an Irishman or any other ethnic minority said.) If I was going to Lincoln I would not start from here.

Here being dahn Sarf.

Yes, but Lincoln has a big catchment area and I thought it worth mentioning.

thanks for the links I would love to get to the Dorset Steam Fair one year but a bit of a trek for us, Anyone close to Norwich might also be interested in a slightly smaller steam rally on the 6th /7th August here at Whitwell & Reepham Station Events – Whitwell Station

Will be at the dorset steam fair looking forward to it, we used to go to the pickering traction rally but it got over run with gypos and was getting worse every year

My Brother in Law will be there as usual. He normally exhibits Vintage Commercial Vehicles but it is too far to drag them. Instead, he enters his collection of Raleigh Bikes from the 1970's (they are the Raleigh Chopper and its variations), you would be surprised at how much they are worth today. If you look round the bicycle exhibits, look for the information cards on them and you will see them as he is from Gateshead also.

Unfortunately I will not be at the steam rally this year due to other commitments.

This afternoon I was doing my weekly half day stint in the charity shop when the air show started and the flight path was right overhead.

Elderly couple inside having a browse when a very loud low flying something flew over.

"Whats that bloody racket says the gent", wife looks at him says "I don't know, I did'nt hear anything"

Made me laugh.

Driving home today from a rally CCC at Burton Bradstock Dorset, we passed through Wimbourne and were overflown 3 times by the Red Arrows who were at the Bournemouth Air Show great. for any CCC members who want to go to the Great Dorset Steam Rally, the NFDA of the CCC are holding their annual rally at Pimperne and will sell you cheaper entry tickets for the show and run a bus to the show from the rally site.or it is in reasonable walking distance from the rally site to the show ground.

I usually go to the Dorset Steam Fair every other year, but the last time we went involved mud up to the axles with a tow on and off site and mud over the wellies which cost a fortune in cider to get over it which increased risk of drowning , I'm going to give it a miss for a while, but the atmosphere is fantastic. I had a stall about ten years ago, didn't make any money but enjoyed the nights.
