Age of motorhome vs date of registration - Advice please

Peugeot Boxer base vehicle manufactured late 2005, ALKO chassis added and conversion done mid 2006, first registered May 2007.

That gave us a better Crit-Air certificate that we should have had because they only go off the " first registered " date

We recently bought a 2010 Autotrail Tracker from a "reputable" dealer. Some issues, some resolved and others ngoing
I was a little suspicious and have now found my 2010 (10 reg) Tracker was built in 2007.
I appreciate there may be a few months between build and registration, but a 3 year gap seems excessive!
I thought this motorhome was newer than my 09 plated trade in, but not the case.
Am I right to feel cheated? When challenged the dealer said it shouldn't be a problem - it was still new in 2010 just hadnt been used.
He also said the spec was the same - but I've checked and there are various differences (130 bhp rather than my 100 bhp for one!)
Had I bought from some dodgy ebay site I wouldn't have been too surprised, but should an actual official Autotrail dealer have pointed this discrepancy out to me?
What do you reckon?
Where I used to work there was a vauxhall dealer next door.

I worked on the 6th and 7th floor so looked down on the carpark and yard.

They had bought in some bedford chassis cabs, all were parked in a row.

They sat there for several years and the weeds grew through the chassis and reached about 8 feet heigh.

After about 5 years they must have found a buyer for them, all the mechanics came out the workshop, cloud and more clouds of blue smoke and they got them started, and off they drove dragging all the weeds behind them !

Nothing new here!
Our 1991 reg Autohome had its first MoT in 1994 and from DVLA’s point of view originated when first registered, but...
When I decoded the VIN the chassis was built in 1989.
A dealer we knew in Tewkesbury had a new unregistered Bessacar in when we bought our Starfire. A year later we changed to a Starspirit and the Bessie was still there waiting for its first owner (it was too dear for us).

Manufacturers for years have preferred scale of economy running factories flat out rather than scale down to meet demand.

The UK market is a thorn in their side too with RHD having to traditionally schedule limited production runs for ourselves and the Irish markets.

If you look at Citroen for example selected deposit allowances and cash backs etc, model and spec dependent often because they know in advance what product mix is landing in Sheerness. It also circumvents the dealers which gives them control.

There is still a lot of pre registering going off Ford and Vauxhall particularly who are obsessed with market shares ( deluded but true) Many manufacturers keen to hit the daily rental markets , enticing to shift product.

Improvements in distribution channels and how stock is funded should see problems of the past allieviated within the motor home markets

Another gassing-style story!
Tyres can easily be in perfect condition for far longer than that, or unsafe after just three or four years if kept wrongly.
Neither the police nor an insurance company could get at you for breaking a non-existent rule.

May not be on mainland but here they do,i had my bsa bike inspected after coming a cropper with a blow out, lucky i terfed the tyre before he arrived, but he did read the front one ,in the end they paid out wife for injuries.
Also just remembered they also wanted to know was the tube a metal or bonded rubber valve for some strange thing.

Some here pre reg and put about 60 miles on clock so they can claim back tax on so called advertising or trade use, also in my day had to get so many sold in one mth to keep dealership, then discounted on f/cort as ex sales demo cars.
