Our swift sundance has the standard type roof mount aerial which i believe is a status 315 or similar, with an onboard amplifier. its worked ok on a couple of sites when tuning into digital freeview, and has been rubbish on another 2 sites where we couldnt get any digital picture at all and only got a very poor analogue signal -which obviously wont be available in the future.
we are'nt really bothered about sky/sat channels etc, the freeview channels available thro our 19" lcd digital TV will suffice, so can anyone recommend a decent digital aerial and telescopic type mast that is easily transportable?
I can probably rig something up to clamp to the bike rack etc to fix the pole to. we stayed on a site at Brid last week (south cliff) and most of the other vans or caravans had simple aerials in use which appeared to be working ok, but with a decent mast to get up and above the van roof to pick up a signal. i think something on these lines would suffice.
i think the overcab hump interferes with the signal pick up on the as fitted aerial as its mounted just behind the hump!
any suggestions appreciated.
