Because it's such an infrequent fill up I've never really paid attention to AdBlue prices, until last week. In Sheffield the warning came on and I pulled into a Shell garage and pumped £6 worth. I gave up at that point because the dispenser was painfully slow. I noticed it was £1.49 per litre.
Back in East Lothian I completed the fill at another Shell station. This time £1.79 per litre!! I think both prices are cheaper than buying the stuff in 10 litre containers, but Ii was shocked at the price difference. Am I imagining it, or was it quite recently generally available at the pump for 99p per litre?

A while back I chatted to a BT engineer who was putting Adblue in his Transit works van from a 5litre can, he said he did this at least twice a week hence carrying it around with him, obviously a fault with this van but it can get expensive’ when I had a newer Citroen it was a fill up every 2 fuel fill ups or around 8-900 miles, glad I went back to ‘old type’ Peugeot which is also much better on fuel, currently 34.6mpg.

What i got over 50mpg on my old rear engine sodas on a long run down through england, 45/48 at home which is on hills etc.

It is basically only Pee.

A bit embarrassing to top up I agree, especially in a Supermarket Car Park or similar. Even worse if you are a Lady driver. :giggle:

Amazing Trev. Always the trail blazer. I must try that too instead of AdBlue. Was it Schweppes you used or just a supermarket own brand?
Fact not fiction, my current car cannot match the old soda, remember the old 850 minies hit over 50mpg over 60 years back with no tec in there engines.

I think everyone got a lot of miles per gallon out of the old skoda as they got pushed for most of them.
That’s why the only extra they fitted was a heated rear screen, for winter pushing
Think you meen the ford escorts, lucky if you got past 40th on them.

I think you mean Mark 1 Cortina and Anglia Trev. Only 3 Main Bearings on the 1200cc engine meant you were lucky to get 40K. I rebuilt a few of those engines for myself and friends.
My jago kit with mk2 escort engines all died along with g boxes and diffs, got fed up and it no resides in the back of the garage. :(
Yes i remember the 3 bearing anglebox engines from my childhood.
me nana ford anglia.jpg

Cracking photo Trev for that period.
That photo was taken with a decent camera, and I am guessing Ilford 35mm 50 or 100 ISO.
You can see the wee cheeky chappie we all know on here, clear as a bell Trev.
Looks like a ford Anglia there Trev.
