ADAC finishing new uk members?

Well it appears OP was correct, ADAC is no longer taking new members from outside Germany, this is very annoying as put off joining until next year when we where intending going on extended tours of europe. :mad2:

do you know the situation regarding renewals?
 
The letter I got from ADAC is saying that it is no longer posting the newsletter to the UK but you can register to get it online.

Wouldn't worry me as they were not very helpful, didn't reply to my emails, didn't return my calls and when I eventually got a quote they were pish.

This is the relevant letter as quoted:

Dear Members & interested Persons,

Unfortunately from the 1st of October 2017 the ADAC Mobile Club in Germany is not allowed to take out any new memberships for interested people with a residence outside from Germany.

For existing Members is it still possible to renew the existing breakdown cover insurance over the phone and stay as a member in ADAC Mobile Club.

This is sad news indeed.

The crucial part is that for existing members cover will be permitted to continue provided the annual premium is paid.

A reminder - existing members are sent an invoice by post each year. It is essential now that this is paid by the due date for cover to continue.
