Absorbent cloth

I can't help with a recommendation for a cloth, but invest in a Karcher or similar. You won't regret it.

Microfibre cloth - they cost peanuts in Lidl or Aldi. They absorb a lot and dry very quickly. :)

Those machines are great, but they need to be charged at 230v - no good for me as I fulltime.

I used towels to start with David, but drying them in winter is difficult and having them hanging around keeps the moisture in the van.

The beauty of microfibre cloths is that they're small and can be wrung out by hand until they're almost dry. :)

A chamois is still useful and effective.

You can get the camping towels in various sizes which feel like a thin chamois, although I dont know what the actual construction is.

I have a large one that I use in the van as it takes up little space and they dry fast too (thats for drying me not the windows, but I reckon itd do the job well).

You're on holiday, stay tucked up in bed until it evaporates. :)

Chamois aren`t what they used to be

No idea what the new ones ( the ones with little holes in ) are made of but they are useless compared to the good old days.

Of course, the best cloth is the most expensive; external screens. I now have less than 5% of the condensation I used to have thanks to them.

I don't have any strength in my hands anymore due to arthritis so can't do a He-Man squeeze like David. ;)

I've tried all sorts and I reckon a chamois (shammy) leather is best.

Parking up facing east / south helps as if its sunny, the sun will help clear it if in no rush to move on in the morning. Assuming there is some sun.

The input voltage is 5.5v, you could cut off the mains plug and charge it with a 12v adapter. Might even work from USB.

Hmm interesting, thanks. I'll look into that; it shouldn't be difficult to do. :)

How about sanitary or tenna panty liners.

I used to use them in my ice hockey helmet at the front - awesomely good at absorbing sweat so as not to drip in your face.

Just a thought.

I know a few d*ckheads but don`t know any f*nnyheads :lol-049::lol-049::lol-049:

Always fun as a chap going into a shop and asking "what's your thickest sanitary towel"?"

I read a tip (maybe on this site?) about filling an old sock with cat litter and leaving it on the dashboard, it absorbs the moisture.

leave the windows slightly open, as little as possible in winter. This makes a big difference

condensation

Thanks everyone,we have just bought a silver screen,so hopefully the condensation will be less

Place a towel under the window, use a squeegy then polish up with a microfire cloth or scrunched newspaper and spit.
No streaks that way.

I have a very efficient absorbent item but finding it very difficult to replace.

It is a very large, very thick, faux chamois that is extremely absorbent, it will clear the inside of windscreen in one go without wringing. We also use after a shower to save on the towels.

It is stored damp in a large plastic tube, supposedly not to be allowed to dry out.

It is a Williams-Renault souvenir that I was given at a race meeting years ago, but it's getting ragged & needs to be renewed.

The things that look like large yellow dusters they demo' at shows are useless in comparison.

Anyone out there got any idea what I'm talking about & where I can get one
